Educators Conference 2010
As defined by Pastor Mike Norris, Christian education is "obtaining truth, obeying truth, and transferring that truth to others." To better equip Christian teachers in their work and labor of love in education, West Coast Baptist College hosted an Educator’s Conference this past September. The keynote speaker was Pastor Mike Norris who can be described as passionate, engaging, and dynamic.
The sessions during the conference covered a variety of topics including: school administration, classroom management, discipline, a Biblical worldview, and how to make history come alive. Incredibly practical and well-prepared, each session was infused with creativity and was a help to those who attended.
The West Coast Baptist College student body was also invited to participate in the conference and it was an encouragement to each individual. As one senior stated, “Through this conference, God stretch me in the area of teaching. You may not know exactly what God has for you, but it’s better to be prepared and informed in different aspects of ministry. This Educator’s Conference opened my eyes to how important Christian education really is.”
Much time, prayer, and enthusiasm went into the final product of the two-day conference, and God was glorified as He moved in hearts and called many to this field of ministry called Christian education. We all are teachers in some capacity, commanded to invest in the coming generation. We praise God that so many teachers desire to be taught and that many young people are preparing to be teachers at West Coast Baptist College. Praise God for Christian Education!
